Greene King is the country’s leading pub retailer and brewer, welcoming customers into their 2,700 pubs and restaurants across the UK. Here at evyve, we’re proud to be Greene King’s chosen partner for their EV charging network. 

This thriving partnership with Greene King has powered the roll-out of over 450 charging points as part of their commitment to enhancing the pub experience for their visitors while promoting sustainability.

How it started

What began as a focused initiative for fleet services grew into a long-term partnership focused on installing and operating EV charging points across Greene King’s nationwide estate of pubs and restaurants.

What we did

Embarking on this EV journey together, we took great pride in ensuring the EV charging points would be a value-add to Greene King’s network, as well as supporting their sustainability commitment and offering an additional revenue stream to their business model.

At evyve, we fully funded the installation of over 450 charging points   at Greene King’s pubs and restaurants. Throughout this partnership, we facilitated the installation and operation of the charging points. 

As part of this, we also evaluate the viability of each location for EV infrastructure, making sure the EV charging infrastructure will enhance the amenities at the site and support Greene King’s sustainability goals. Overall, this creates an EV offering that boosts the customer experience by giving people another reason to visit Greene King’s restaurants and pubs.

We typically install 75 kW rapid charging points at Greene King’s sites. Each rapid charging station can charge two vehicles simultaneously, making them an ideal choice for Greene King.
 
We have also embarked on the first installation of ultra-rapid charging hubs at Hobby Horse Farm in Syston, Leicestershire. These ultra-rapid charging stations can charge at speeds of up to 150 kW. This lets drivers recharge even faster — a great way to attract transit customers who want to get back on the road as soon as possible.

The outcome

Greene King has successfully introduced EV charging facilities as part of their broader strategy to reduce their environmental impact and support their customers in making more sustainable choices. 

Having installed over 450 charging points so far, we’re pleased to see Greene King already having great success with EV charging. Not only do these charging points support Greene King’s sustainability goals and enhance their visitor experience, but they also present an additional income stream.
