Putting sustainability first
Electric vehicles are essential to the UK’s net zero targets. Without the charging infrastructure to support more EVs, we’ll be stuck with dirty diesel and polluting petrol vehicles.
We won’t solve our emissions without solving the infrastructure that’s holding us back. We built evyve to deliver the solution – a network of safe, secure and super-efficient chargers in the most convenient locations across the UK.
Our chargers are powered by 100% renewable energy and should deliver 1 billion emission-free miles by 2030.
Our Clean Commitment
Evyve is a joint venture between EVY Infrastructure Partners and Peel NRE. Peel NRE, part of Peel L&P, is at the heart of the nation’s activity around clean growth and the circular economy – helping the UK achieve net zero by 2050 and supporting the regions in their actions to achieve climate emergency targets.
As the UK makes the switch from petrol and diesel cars to electric vehicles (EV) there is an increasing demand for charging infrastructure. A lack of charging infrastructure is often cited as one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in the UK and we are committed to supporting the roll-out of this infrastructure in several different ways.
The UK is on course to meet the target from the Committee on Climate Change for 60% of new cars to be electric by 2030. Forecasts suggest that nearly one in four new cars will be electric by 2025, with plug in cars making up approximately 50% of new registrations by 2027 and 60% by 2030. On the current trajectory, it is likely that virtually every car on UK roads will be electric by 2040.
